About Us
Senior Helpers – SF Bay & Marin is a San Francisco company providing in-home, non-medical care for seniors as an alternative to nursing homes and assisted living.
We are absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our clients get the best possible service through the finest caregivers.
Whether it is interviewing and checking caregivers, managing schedules and care plans, raising community and client awareness on seniors’ issues, or just being available to lend our experience to help in any way, we continuously work to provide the best service to both our clients and caregivers.
Our goal is to help our clients stay in their homes as long as they desire by providing quality caregivers – caregivers to whom we would entrust our own families.
Besides our rigorous hiring policies, we also seek to continually help our caregivers grow by offering free courses for the purpose of skills improvement.
We serve the San Francisco inner bay communities from the Presidio to Potrero Hill, as well as the South Marin communities of Sausalito, Tiburon, and Belvedere.
Whether you are in Nob Hill, Pacific Heights, Telegraph Hill, North Beach, the Marina, the Haight, or somewhere in between, we’re here to help.
For other areas, we are happy to recommend one of our local Bay Area Senior Helpers peers to provide the same high standards of service.

Senior Helpers is located at 148 Townsend in a (somewhat) still operating sewing factory which is one of the last ungentrified office spaces in South Beach.
If you don't mind climbing a big flight of steps, you're welcome to drop by!

Calvin Liu – Principal Helper & Owner
Calvin is a trained electrical engineer. After living and working in Japan, Europe, Texas, and San Francisco in various sales, marketing, and engineering jobs for ten years, he decided to do something much more direct in helping others.
Senior Helpers is a way for him to fulfill a community need he experienced as he went through a period where both remaining grandparents and his own father passed away from various illnesses.

Laura Massa – Chief Helper & Operations Manager
Laura Massa spent the last fifteen years working in the glamour industries of advertising, marketing, and television. Her decision to switch to the field of senior care was based on a desire to do something “more worthwhile”.
As Operations manager, she interviews, hires, and provides the orientation for all caregivers. Only those candidates who pass her test of “would I entrust this person to care for my 70-something mother?” are asked to join our Senior Helpers team.
Laura is also volunteers at San Francisco animal shelters where her favorites are the senior…cats.
